I am looking to get a set of hoses for the brakes on my VXXR8. I have checked the usual places for them but there is a big difference in price between Monkfish and Walkinshaw. Does anyone know what the differences are between the kits offered by these two?

Thanks

Not 100% sure what the differences are, but I am fairly sure they must get them from a 3rd parties, hence the mark up on them.

I have just bought a set of HEL Performance brake lines for my VXR8 http://www.brake-lines.co.uk/product-12060.html

I found this company http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/pr... as suppliers of them, direct from HEL's and cheaper than HEL's own web site.

I'd say result in my book smile

P.S You can choose any colour you like.

Just as a PS to this, I used HEL stainless lines on my Monaro and the garage reckoned the brackets didn't fit / come with any (can't remember now!) for the front. They just used a loose cable tie around the existing mount to make sure they stayed out of harms way.

Made a huge diffrence when coupled with yellow stuffs pads though, very happy. Hope yours works out well too.

Yes I got a set from HEL but they don't come with the inner wing brackets and I was not happy with how they fitted, too long and not secured, so got a set of Russell hoses direct from states for Pontiac GTO .
These fitted perfect as come with brackets, so I sent HEL hoses back along with my old brackets, hopefully this will enable them to fabricate the correct hoses thumbup

I got mine from HEL. but seeing as I have non standard calipers I needed custom ones.

I made my own brackets using some aluminium angle

Some braided brake kits come with steel washers. Don't use them as they will start to leak in a few years time. Get some copper washers instead.
