DMS upgrades and boxster (s)
Discussion
Hello everyone,
I have a 2002 boxster s and been looking at sport exhausts lately....
Without great success though: won' t go for the factory one (too ugly), Janspeed has too much drone in mid-range. I cannot get much feedback on Ruf and Gemballa items (let alone listening to them!)...
So was thinking about DMS... www.dmsautomotive.com ...
They had superb reviews on the work they did on 996 turbo' s and GT2' s in various magasines (EVO).
Does anyone have any experience / feedback on the work they do on boxsters?....
Sent them an email to find out about work they do + prices... but in the meantime, if anyone tried them or had rides in boxster modified by them... i' d be glad to hear about it!
Cheers,
Eric.

Toolpants, they definitely do it...
See the reply i received by email from Mike Cooper at dms after my enquiry:
Many thanks for the enquiry. We are able to provide around 20 to 22 bhp and a further 8 lb/ft of torque. Changes and improvements are acgieved by re mapping ecu and changing in particular variocam settings. Car will loose none of its current flexibility but will pull stronger and cleaner above 4800 rpm. Overall the throttle response will also feel generally sharper. Upgrade is undetectable by Porsche service and daignostic equipment. Cost is £850 plus vat and the upgrade can be carried out at your location at no additional charge.
But hey, i am not too convinced... i do not like palying around with factory engine settings....
On the other hand i am still looking at which exhaust i could have on my boxster s: not the factory one (do not like looks), not the janspeed (reputed drooney), not the dansk (reputed not great sound).... maybe the Car Graphic? the TechArt? the Gemballa? others?........
