458 - great detailing job :)
Discussion
Hi,
I don't normally bother doing testimonials because most of the time the service I seem to get tends to be nothing to really write home about. I also have pretty high standards, which doesn't help in that regard, particularly regards my cars.
Anyway, just thought I'd sing the praises of a guy who is local to me (he is mobile as well) who has done paint correction detailing work on two of my cars now, a Porsche Cayman S and most recently my new-to-me Ferrari 458 Italia. When I had the Cayman done my then-boss who had a newer Boxster ended up getting hers done by the same guy shortly afterwards because she was upset at how comparatively dull hers looked!
He has done a writeup of the process of working on my car, which can be seen on his blog here: http://www.exclusivecarcare.co.uk/ferrari-458-corr...
And one of the finished photos:

I hope this isn't considered as bad form - I'm not getting anything out of this testimonial, I just know from experience how hard it is to find someone who is genuinely as fastidious and perfectionist about car care as I am and figured I'd pass on the recommendation in good faith. Also what I think is quite important to note is that this guy works on supercars fairly often, so they aren't a novelty or temptation to him like they might be to others.

That is the best 458 i have seen, congrats stunning.
Cheers. The photos don't really do it justice. The engine bay in particular, whilst it wasn't particularly dirty before now it looks like a new car. Hadn't expected nor instructed him to replace the OEM paint protection tape where it had picked up some dirt, that's something he just did off his own back.I actually struggled to get the car cover back on it at the end of the day because it just kept sliding off the roof
#firstworldproblems, etc.I love seeing detailing reports like these, really inspirational what can be achieved. I've just went and ordered the stuff he used on the exhaust pipes
As much as I'm a driver, not a polisher so to speak, I can't help wondering if I would want to get my car dirty once it looked that good

Looks like an amazing job but would be nice to see the pictures properly without the half page banner, it's not easy to appreciate with half a screen!
Is that on here or on his website (the blog page)?mon the fish said:

Before I had my Cayman done I was a skeptic if I'm honest, after all it's (usually) several hundred quid for what most laymen would call "a fancy polish". After I'd bitten the bullet though I was converted (hallelujah!). Unless you've had it done and seen what is possible it would be easy to assume that a regular polish & wipe off is the best it can be, but it isn't. Not by a long shot.

The best bit I found is that it honestly does make washing it easier, and you see the improved results after each wash - assuming you don't use harsh chemicals or take it through an automated car wash, etc.
Regards how much I paid - it probably wouldn't be fair to state it explicitly simply because I was a returning customer, and I asked for some extras, so it probably wouldn't be indicative of a typical quote. Suffice as to say that it was in the region of the prices that are listed on his website. I believe he advises people to contact him for a bespoke quote anyway.

My car new from the factory this year had swirl marks like that on it and was sent direct to the paint protection company from the dealership without even having a wash as the detailer who they used asked for it this way after getting cars that had been washed by some dealers and creating even more scratches on the paintwork. The dealer just checked for any paint defects that would come under warranty first.
The detailer then spent two days detailing the car and doing the paint correction before the paint protection was applied to the agreed panels. Then the panels that were not paint protected were coated with the same Gtechniq and the results are amazing.I can't remember the last time i washed a car but i bought all the kit that the detailer recommended including the snow foam gun and i have really enjoyed keeping the car clean myself. No one else has been allowed to touch it and it has been given a drive through car wash ban
The 458 above looks stunning and is worth the effort all day long.

Hi cgt2, the website is responsive and supposed to be mobile friendly so if you can let me know what system you are viewing the pictures on I can investigate the problem you are having and try to rectify the issue. Looks fine on my desktop pc, ipad and iphoneCar Mad Dave said:

Thank you, have you been able to find a bit more time to use it this year?BR

Hi Jay, I'm viewing on a large screen monitor and the grey banner at the top takes up around 1/3 of the page which obscures the pictures.
Thanks, what browser are you using?Made a few adjustments with header, please refresh page (Ctrl + F5) and see if its now working for you

Andy, shame on you for just referring to me as "the detailer" and paintshield as the "paint protection company" lol. Ferrari's (all of them) are in need of a good couple of days machine polishing spent on them, straight from the dealers.
Jay is one of the best out there and one of the few i would recommend to people without a second thought. Im not surprised Durzel was happy with the end results.
