Few spots on the drive. Looking at the front of the engine bay there is a pipe low down anove the cross member its runber with metal pipes at each end. The pipe itself has oily muck on it. Is this an oil cooler pipe, air con or power steering pipe?

Are there any common leakage points on an ls2? (R8)

It sounds like the power steering cooler , I know they are a common failure on monaros , I was not sure is yours a Monaro or vxr8 , I'm not as sure as vxr8 set up I'm assuming the same ?

Not sure what car you have but it will be the power steering pipes, I would guess its a Monaro as the VXR8 does not have much of a problem here, they just tend to weap around the flexy coupling area, never know one to give out on the VXR8

think its different. From memory My ro had 2 rubber hoses on one side entering two metal pipes that had fins on that went the width of the car by the rad.
This is a thick ish hose. But dont see how its got oil on it all the way along???? You can see it looks dark and wet compared to the other hoses.

My VXR8 is going into Walkinshaws for a new power steering pump end of this month unless it is just a split pipe. 2007 85k miles.

I was told my R8 has got a slight oil leak from the front crank pulley oil seal when it was in for a service last week (A.A.S.), not too bad a job apparently - couple of hundred quid for them to do it.

My hose had a was weaping, never lost oil but changed the pipe/hose unit, I had Neil do it for me at his garage, done a good job.
