Dumb history question ...

A friend gave me a second hand copy of "TVR The Complete Story". Looks like it must have been written shortly after the 1993 Motor Show, coz the author describes the Cerbera as being shown at the Motor Show, orders being taken for it, and it being available with a choice of 4.0 or 4.3 litre Rover V8s. And that is pretty much the end of the book.

Did any car in those specs ever get delivered to customers? If not, what happened to those orignal orders? Also the car was priced at about £29k while the Griffith 500 was about £33k. I'd always assumed the Cerbera was more expensive.

Can anyone shed some light on it?

Thanks for that. Certainly suggests there was a long delay btwn taking the first orders and delivering what seems to be a rather different and better car. I wonder if the original offer price was honoured? Also, does anyone know when the first Cerberas were delivered to customers? I'm thinking there must have been a very long delay btwn placing your order at the (£ motor show and actually getting the car.

A turbocharged rover would have been ok... but they left the forced induction route behind a few years...

I guess now with all this talk of supercharged typhon etc etc... they're going to get into the BIG BOY scene... but I hope they build their engines better for forced induction... I mean they can barely take the pounding under normal aspiration...
