2007 V8 Vantage ipod connection
Discussion
I've checked through the search and can't find a specific answer to the question over connecting an ipod into an early Vantage. I've a 2007 Vantage with the standard (not premium) stereo system so no USB port or aux connection.
I know that you can install a 'Denison' unit which will give you full ipod connection, charging, and control but is there a way of connecting the ipod direct through an Aux lead plugged direct into the same place that the Denison unit connects into? So it plays the tunes selected on the ipod direct but doesn't bring in all the controls or charging functions?

No, I don't think so because Dension isn't really plugging into an audio input.
It's really connected the same way the CD changer is and pretends to be that. Assuming the Aston one works the same as the one I have in my Cayenne - which is likely -then it sits between the head unit and the CD changer. The head unit thinks it's still talking to the CD changer. The Dension has switches so it can be bypassed if you still want to use the CD changer.
But basically it isn't using an 'extra' input. And I don't think the head unit would let audio in through the CD changer connection if it didn't think there was a CD changer there.

Had it done on a 2006 AMV8 today and yes this is correct. It's really connected the same way the CD changer is and pretends to be that. Thanks, I was wondering how Aston martin did it with the 2008 cars, hoping there would be a more simple solution allowing both the USB and the CD changer to be plugged in direct.
They plumbed it into the MOST bus. i.e. did it properly. You can get this done after market. Even Aston offer it. But you're talking a lot of cash (I think Aston charge 1,400 quid or so on a 2007 car).
