2004 mini cooper non start

Hi my sister just went to shops (5 mins at most) and when she got back car wont start. Has all dash lights and windows/radio work. But nothing on key turn, not even a click as you expect from starter. Bump started fine and drove home, tried start and again nothing except one click from starter motor. Am i right in assuming the starter is dead? Battery in good condition and no problems before now. Thanks in advance

Get a jump lead and clamp one end to a decent metal lump on the engine and the other to the battery earth . That will rule out the earth strap from motor to body
