It's one or the other

Done Countach before and miss it alot but that said it is a challenge to live with(back) but epic non the less should I revisit and accept its for short runs and a piece of artwork

Or

Go 512 BB also special but arguably easier to live with and a tad more usable

Which will appreciate more over 5 -10 years?

All input welcome

The original Countach is drop dead gorgeous, but every iteration became uglier and uglier. Plus I always view the BB as a serious sports car with stunning looks, whereas the Countach is ever so slightly daft.

I found the BB rapid yet civilised on the road. Looks gorgeous parked up in the flesh too.

trust you to be different Pete

But it looks like the vote is resoundingly 512 BB- which surprises me a bit given we all love mental poster Countach

viewed a CT this morning BB next week

Hi mate

What about the mighty Ford GT.

It fits through gaps equally as well as a Countach which is a godsend when a combine harvester is coming the other way (private joke) biglaugh

512BB are gorgeous but are/have become expensive.

A Pantera could be an option?

How are you, not spoken for a while.

I had the same debate with myself a couple of years ago, and went Countach. (400S not QV)

It is a pain to live with at times, but the best way to keep it working well is to use it. Personal choice, but now very glad I made a last minute switch, as there's nothing else like it.

Yup - why have a prancing horse when you can have a raging bull?

512BB smile

I was surprised how civilised it was to drive and the gearchange was also not like the dog I was told they were. Then there's that shape lick

PS - I ended up with a 512TR as the BB price exploded just when I was looking to buy frown

BB is a pretty car, but the QV wins every time for me.

outrageous, no where near as difficult to drive as everyone says, though rear visibility on a QV will be poor.

Assuming you want it to drive that is, as both have now become investment cars, which is a real shame - they were meant to be driven!

I remember looking at these when I was younger and they were almost in reach as a single man, I got married and thought perhaps one day.... But Christ they certainly have gone up exponentially in recent years....

If I recall it was 365bb > 512bb > 512tr .... I presume the more limited numbers of the bb's explains why the tr almost seems reasonable by comparison.

Given the choice between a 512BB and a QV I would (and did) take the BB. It'd be a tougher call between a BB and a 400 or 400S though.

The BB is VERY civilised though, so this is an interesting choice as the two cars are pretty much polar opposites. So it depends on whether you want high drama and excitement vs sexy & civilised.

Agree. But a 400 will, I suspect, cost a hell of a lot more than a BB.

Hi Tony yes I am fine hope you are well - will never forget threading the countach past a combine he looked more nervous than me !

love Pantera's but good GTS hard to find and I think CT QV or 512BB more long term appeal (could be wrong often am)

whatever I buy will get driven and hence 512 is looking better option but it is a tough choice

''Footsoldier' thats is stunning

If you arent in any hurry it may be worthwhile looking further afield?

A 512BB sold last week for $350,000 in the US. The car was a RHD that had been exported there so the import duty would have only been 5% of its value, in fact if it had of been a US model and LHD it would still have only attracted a 5% import duty. May be food for thought?
