Audi A6 Aircon problem

2007 Audi S6 and the aircon has been getting weaker for a few weeks but I haven't got round to getting it recharged.

It stopped completely yesterday so I called out the mobile aircon guy and it had 260 aircons in there when it should have 555. Apparently the system stops the compressor running when it goes below 50% and the error on VCDS supports this:

1 Fault Found:
00256 - A/C Pressure/Temperature Sensor (G395)
004 - No Signal/Communication

He vacuumed out the old stuff and refilled to the correct weight and it all looks good, we cleared the code and fired it back up but the fault returns and no aircon?

Does anyone know if the sensor can be reset or is it a one shot deal? Just wondered if there is a trick I don't know about before I order a new one.

You'll need a new sensor, same just happened to me on an 08 S5. Mine was easy to get to (can be seen through front grill-passenger side).

Cheers - mine is also behind the grill apparently but it looks like you have to drop the bumper off which is a pain.

Will order one now.
