I should be in the group that due to membership longevity still gets free classifieds. Tried to list my car this evening but system seems to be trying to force me to take a premium ad at £11.99.

Have free classifieds for longer term members been withdrawn or is there a glitch?

I can post adverts on the PH classifieds for free, and I've been here several months fewer than yourself! Are you sure you're logged into PH when you create your advert? Might be the cause ...

Yup. First thing I checked. I also wondered if it was a glitch relating to the mobile site but tried this morning from work PC and getting the same thing.

I think it's a known issue. Some people don't get the privilege automagically so someone at haymarket has to do the honours for you.

What's the membership duration cutoff for free classifieds? Planning to advertise my Clio Trophy next week.

E36GUY, you have two accounts with us. One is registered to a yahoo address and the to a racing address. If you log in with your racing email address you will be able to list for free. Accounts created after the cut off date (before Jan 1st 2009), will not have the free advert rights assigned automatically.

When the advert is created, you will be offered a free listing on the "step 3 - choose an ad type" page. Unless you are prompted to enter card details, you will not be charged.

For those who believe they may have more than one account, please contact us through the normal channels.

Thanks Katie. No idea why I would have two accounts. I've only ever used E36GUY.

Sorry for the thread resurrection. I am a long term member and have always received free private adverts. I went to list a car today and only had the option of paying the fee. Is this an issue with my account? Has anyone else placed a free advert recently? Many thanks!

Hey Dave,

I've checked your account and you have free classifieds enabled.

I see you have an ad live. Did you pay for it?

Thanks for the reply lordgrover.

Matt - yes I had to pay for it. I have checked my account now and the option for a free advert is now showing. Not sure what happened last week.
