Is it me or was the appointment of David Blunkett as Home Secretary silly. I mean how can you be "blind" and be able to see what is physically going on, e.g state of schools.

Can't see it myself.

Anyway did he get kicked out (while I was away on holiday). Came back to Blighty to find some other C...C...C... now what's his name ...C...Clark...is that the C word I'm looking for?

Not necessarily silly. How can he see graffiti and the general decline of some inner city areas. I think it's why he was such a control freak and wanted documentation for everything including ID cards. It would be the only way he could be in touch with what's going on.

I concure, I always had a problem with this.

After all, he'd never have got a job as a brain surgeon would he?

You're assuming that sighted politicians actually see what is under their noses.

What was going on in his head while he was helping to make policy probably had more impact on his level of competency.

although the allegation that he'd had a look over some passport application forms for a friend had me in stiches; bet is dog was busy!
