HMS Hood's bell recovered
Discussion
Couldn't see this posted in here, but saw that Paul Allen had funded a team to recover HMS Hood's bell and will be given to the Royal Navy to display.
Is it right or a good thing to take the bell like that from, essentially, a war grave??

a bit of me says no. But as it is going to the Museum and not in some rich kids collection a massive Yes.
Dad was in the Navy in WW2 on the Dido which suffered a bit as well. He said when the news came about the Hood, the ship just went silent.
No expense should be spared on this memorial, the names of all on board to take centre stage, its a shame Ted lived to see it

Repulse and Prince of Wales are being plundered for their scrap metal and the Malaysian authorities are doing nothing about it. This is just Hood's bell which is being lifted and it is right and proper it will be preserved.
