I'm looking for a station car and thought the Twizy would be perfect. Mr Google says there was a stunning £15pm PCP deal + battery hire available back in Q1'15 but I can't find any current offers.

My local Renault dealer (tunbridge wells) didn't seem that interested in selling me a Twizy (saying they were no longer being manufactured).

Is anybody aware of any current deals? The alternative is for me to pick one up 2nd hand for circa £4k, however i'd rather not tie up the money if I can help it.

TBH a Zoe would be far better and the offers on them are very low. Think about -3 degrees and a commute to the station in January!...

Could we call it a CaterTwizy?

In all honestly, I would like to know what kind of deals you get as I'd love one. Golf club/train station mule

JRM - how is the deal negotiations going?

For me the attraction to one of these over a Zoe is the ability to squeeze it into parking spaces in an industrial area near our local station.

Slowly, but getting there, signing everything this week hopefully and then arranging delivery.
No deals on the battery lease from Renault though, they are saying the minimum is £35 per month which is annoying as I thought there would be a lower one given the low mileage I intend on doing

Hi!

I'm looking for a used Twizy if anyone has one to sell? What is the cheapest monthly rental over 12 months for a battery?

£45 pm apparently which I think is for 4500 miles per year

I thought that was if you signed up for 36 months? Maybe they have changed it since I first inquired. What happens if you have purchased a used example then after a year just want to leave it in the garage? Guess you have to sign up for another year? Plus you have to keep on paying until you can off load the car on to someone else. Hmmm.. could get tricky.

A few people on Twizy Owners haven't been paying the lease and nothing has happened (yet) and another lot have asked to return the battery and again the finance company haven't really responded with an answer!

I'm leasing my whole car so makes life a bit easier - I hope as I'll just hand it back at the end of the term and it works out about the same as the parking charges at the station so I'm hoping it'll turn out to be a good move

I looked in to it further and if you buy used then it's a pretty steep prospect. Over 12 months will cost you £55 p/m for the battery lease and insurance on top. Because of the nature of the car that can be pretty steep too.

It would be a lot cheaper to buy an "pedalec" electric bicycle with no insurance, no battery lease for much less and have a better range. You'll also get through the traffic a lot quicker too.

This is an answer to my reply from an official Renault dealership:

1. The minimum term you can do over 12 months is on a 4,500 miles per year contract which works out at £55 per month

2. You would have to still rent the battery even if you SORN the vehicle. If not it will be repossessed.

I just love the last bit!

Yes it's good isn't it, you should see the details on repossession in the contract - it does go on a bit, but I've still signed it as the whole things makes financial sense for my particular usage.

It arrives on 21st December, just in time to be a Christmas present!!

There are people out there that never signed their battery lease though and are never followed up on it. Not me but I found it somewhere when looking into getting one. If you're not bothered about the battery replacement and roadside assist then it makes the whole experience much cheaper!
