iPhone 6 music

I have managed to Bluetooth my phone and I have the USB cable to connect my phone it charges only.
Is it a phone issue that I can't stream music? I have a iPod which works correctly.

I had to buy the lighting Apple adapter so the Merc Usb cable fitted the iPhone 6.

Call me old fashioned but I like the 6 CD player, much better quality when listening with the roof up and cruising at sensible motorway speeds.

Need to know year more than car to be fair, so we know what NTG Comand system you have fitted.

2012 got bluetooth streaming as standard I believe.

2011 not tried BT streaming tbf

What makes me laugh my new Crafter van plays my music through the cable no issues I get not compatible in my cheap top of the range merc at the time of build.

Sorry I still don't understand.
I have the MB USB lead that fits in the slot in the armrest box,I also have a lightning cable.
My phone charges off this but doesn't stream music.
I guess my car isn't suitable?

When you say 'stream' do you mean via bluetooth? Streaming means wireless.

When you plug the iPhone into the USB port, re you using the correct cable.....

Hold on, if your car is an R230 SL then you will either have the earlier media interface, if you have it at all, and you have the right cables (although may need a 30pin to lightning adapter) or if it is a newer R231 SL you have the wrong cables.

When you go to DISC on the menu can you see aux/media/usb etc.?
