Chimera Passenger Door Loose Mirror Glas

I have noticed that the door glass has become loose in the housing.On further inspection the heated glass is held to the backing frame by double sided tape and over time the side which is in contact with the glass no longer has any adhesive quality.The glass is not damaged and nor is the heated tape on the back.
Has anyone a suggestion on putting a replacement adhesive tape or similar in place.I have thought about using sticky back velcro strips in place but that may push the mirror too far out of its frame.Left as it is the mirror will fall off and i notice that the heated mirror is no longer available.

It sounds like you know how to extract the glass from the housing.
I would be using a good quality glue myself.
One thing - I had mine apart at the weekend to replace the casting, and cannot say I noticed any double sided tape.
I will pop outside when it stops raining and see how mine is attached

Thanks .Have spoken with Neil Garner over at Kemble and he says that they use double sided number plate tape which is really strong so i guess i'll give that a go.

I used double sided sticky pads designed for number plates too. It did the job.

I think you can get the heated glass if you search for Citroen CX rather than TVR!

heated glass ones are available off the Bay, replaced mine 12 months ago and still working, and fitted it with gorilla tape.

Can you confirm the mirror glass is from a Citroen CX as i can only find either ZX or C2 .Better still if you know the e-bay supplier .Thanks
