After the success of my last thread asking about eBay order sorting software I thought I'd ask for recommendations on a company to go with to create a eBay listing template. I've googled but there are so many options I'd like a personal recommendation. The listing template only needs to be basic, but look professional and well laid out. I sell automobile consumables so my usual customers are engineers/mechanics, it doesn't need to be very pretty and extravagant.

I use a free one which I think looks fine for my needs -> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bob-the-Builder-Style-Co...

Worth a look? Just pops a link on the bottom of the page as you can see.

I was thinking something a little more Example

With clear description, Payment, Shipping, Returns sections including banners etc. Then hopefully I can link related items and offer discounts for bulk buys with the aim of customers purchasing multiple items in one transaction.

I would not go overboard on a complex and highly graphical template if you do not have the ability to maintain it yourself, as you will need to change it over time and it will cost to pay someone to do it each time.

When I was selling, I just used something simple that I was able to change myself but which looked reasonably professional.

I bet most customers who purchase from you do not actually care what the listing looks like.

Just my 2p.

It's more important make sure the product information is easily readable than how it looks.

Make sure if you get one that it is mobile responsive as some templates look great on a desktop but are hard to see on a mobile device.

I actually removed my template and haven't seen any affect on sales.

We have just used http://www.weblegs.co.uk/ for ours and we're very happy with them. Quick turnaround and professional.

Chris is the contact in there if you do contact them.

All very good points, I've contacted weblegs and are waiting for a call from them.

I'll make sure that the listings are suited to mobile phone use on all platforms as I expect we receive a lot of orders from these devices.

I was hoping that this would increase our sales, especially as it will make it much easier for me to link similar items that the customer may also be interested in. Its a little disconcerting to hear that dropping a template made no difference to sales whatsoever!

On ebay, your price and your sales reputation would be the top two drivers for sales.

Would you have any tips on how to increase sales on eBay?

Competitors outsell us on many products despite us having far superior feedback and lower prices. I've had a picture template created with logo/watermarks and all of our products are currently being photographed to hopefully entice customers to our listings.

A listing template with linked items was my next venture and I'm also reducing my postage costs by using Royal Mail DMO with flat rate (currently franking) any other suggestions are very welcome.

Have a look at inkfrog it's cheap and a handy piece of eBay kit.
