Has anyone got the new 520 yet? I currently have an 800, I don't have the maps so when using a route I only have a trail to follow, does the 520 offer this option?

I believe its not touch screen but has buttons instead? what's the battery life like on it?

I don't think it has satnav. I'm waiting for the features in the 520 to go onto the follow up to the 1000 as its really the satnav I now want.

My go to website for GPS & power meter info: http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2015/07/garmin-edge-520...

I will be replacing my 500 with a 520 when the screen finally gives up

I like the idea of the live tracking offered by the 520, also it has Bluetooth so easier to upload data.

I don't mind not using the maps so that's not a problem, so long as the 520 has the option of showing a bread crumb trail to follow that's all I really need.

Just buy the maps for the 800. Don't really understand why you would buy the 800 with th bigger screen and don't load maps onto it?

Yes, they are lots of hacks about on the net for free maps, but there is usually quite a bit f faff to get them to work properly (Well, there was for me). I paid £20 and bought the Garmin UK and Europe maps on a SDHC card. Works fine smile
