Has anyone been to one of these? Are bargains to be had or are you better off buying elsewhere?

I've had some bargains at fellows, but I've also paid the higher end of what I've felt comfortable and have often been open-mouthed at the prices some lots fetch. Like any auction you're going to suffer the Winners Curse.

You're going up against people who are there on the day, who know what they're looking at and probably have a better idea of how to make money from it than you do so while you absolutely can grab a bargain (someone got a cheap Patek from Fellows notnso long ago) you're more likely to pay high. There is no free money!
