How many is too many

I understand that due to avoiding emissions and crash testing regulations, TVR's are low volume production etc. Can anyone confirm whether 500 cars is actually the limit? And re: the cerbera specificatlly, would that (if true) mean that 500 of each were produced, ie 4.5, 4.2 and spd6 (im guessing this is not the case but havnt got a clue). Or were 500 cerbs built in total, regardless of engine size.

Can anyone else confirm with certainty rules and regs on after-support. Again Im not sure, but what is the actual number of years a manufacturer needs to supply parts for an engine, once produced, and does this date start on the day the last new car was built? Meaning we have over 9 years left of ajp parts/support, or at least legally we should?

Starter for 10: 500 of any given type can be manufactured in any given year, as far as I know. So, 500 Cerbs, 500 Tuscs, 500 T350s, and 3 Tamoras in any year, and for any number of years. Think Tuscan & Tuscan S would count as different cars, too, but not sure.

500 a year?? (I should say first that I almost certainly know less than you) but...

Could you be confusing this with the talk of a limited 500 model plans for the new range?

And I thought there were only 500 cerberas in existance, and assumed/heard (bit of both I think) that they had reached number 500 and now had to stop or revise the cerb enough for it to be a 'different' car in order to continue production

No, ukBob...definitely 500 cars per year limit for LVTA (Low Volume Type Approval).

It was a concession to small British manufacturers when the EU imposed mandatory type approval on us some years ago (1992?)
