Great post Mark, very good how you managed to get a relevant post about your pet dog and your Aston .
My 11 year old cat costs me £18 a month...not had a claim yet.

I have the answer for you. Are you sitting down?

"It is beyond economic repair", does not apply to our beloved pets.
We might spend £1,000 on a vet's bill, when a replacement dog is only £250.
Oh, how cruel.

once the insurers see that there are loads of scum going round damaging Aston Martins it will soon go up.

I got my (car) insurance renewal the other day and was very happy with it - down about £250 from last year.

On the other hand, if I had pets - and the insurance on them was £1300 - I think I'd be looking up recipes for dog a l'orange.

A lot less hassle to go for a "hot dog".

I have a daughter in her second year of veterinary college (in the U.S.). When she finally receives her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree she will have spent eight years at university, just like an M.D.
One difference, however, is that while the M.D.s will be driving many of the cars we love to discuss on PistonHeads, the D.V.M.s will be driving ten-year old Fiats.

Pet insurance.... Most will ditch you or give comedy premiums if err your dog gets ill... I have Pet Plan currently for £28pm which I believe are probably the least slipperu/unethical, and this only as Dalmatians have a history of bladder stones; with my previous dog I used to schlap £35 a month in a high interest account and that eventually fed £4k into the Rapide fund. Woof!clap

After 2 years of maxing out on pet claims mine are even now at £650 each.
Year 3 will see pet premiums take the lead as another Staffie enters the family.
Just hope the new one is not a feature of channel 4's Supervet as well........
The only solution is to join the Vanquish club!
Only trouble is when I had one for 2 weeks whilst my Old V8V was having some TLC at the dealer.
My 630am start woke every dog in the neighbour hood it was hilarious for me as I drove off.

My daughter is one of those M.D.s (4 years now) and she drives a ten year old Fiat, well it's actually 9 years old and only 5 years at uni but it makes for a better story bro wink
