Monaro Key Help

In trying to get a spare key for my Monaro. I got the key from Monkfish but did not have the code but managed to get the code from vauxhall to program it. Now this is the issue Monkfish need a 6 digit code but vauxhall have given me a 4 digit code which they are adamant is correct.

Now I'm stuck any ideas.

just checked and I have VX / HSV stock with 4 / 5 and 6 digit security no.s !!

could be 00 before your 4 digits

have you tried manual reprogramming -

no problem. Have done it before when a VX dealer were useless and wasted my time. Saying had to go to Luton for special coding

I just got told by a dealer that getting the 6 digit code was impossible and would have to change the BCM to program the key. They couldn't believe when I told them how I did it. Said that can't work and car will probably cut out down the road. We will see.

I found that info on how to programme your key and did it for my old monaro, 4 years on and the key worked fine so sounds like they are talking BS

And shows the Vx dealerships up a bit sometimes. Why don't they go on proper courses to fix cars, rather than just 'thinking' and spending the punters money?

Not surprising the dealer that fobbed me off lost their Monaro / VXR8 sub franchise. They are still a VX dealer but still ste

Never had a lot of faith in main dealers to be honest. Thanks to this forum and the guys at monkfish I'm now sorted, I have a spare key and it's programmed and working
