Well it runs out I didn't need a new swan neck after all - just a repair at the join at the top!

I have to fit a replacement wiper arm since the old one has stripped itself and just lollops about all over the place. I was going to fit something like a Vauxhall Astra/Belmont unit or will any arm do? Is there a specific one I should use?

Thanks
JJ

On the general subject of wipers, what is the origin of the rubber gaiter that hides the shaft between the body and the arm? Thanks Grady

JJ,
IIRC from a conversation a few years ago with someone it may be off of a transit van. Anyone confirm?

The motor, drive and wheel box are similar to TR7 but the sweep is different and so are the gears. Don't have a clue what the wiper arm is off so I bought one from a TVR dealer, then bought an off the shelf blade. I'll dig the info out later and post it.

Dug out the receipt but unfortunately it just says 'wiper arm' no part number or any other info. It was only £9.83 +VAT from HHC may be worth giving them a ring. The blade I bought was a Champion VX51 but I think any universal 20 inch blade will fit.

I have a new blade on the original arm. 'Tis the arm that is required.

I'll try out various options.
