So after a 4 year hiatus that's seen me in a mk4 r32 and my current steed, an awesome e46 b3s coupe, I'm planning to get back into pork within 12 months (after spending the past 2 months heavily investing into a potential tvr chimaera purchase!)

As much as I'd like to buy back my dry 89 964 c2 manual my budget won't stretch that far and I'll likely need something with a few mod come as my wife will use it sometimes

My current preference would be for 997.1 c4s (I really do like the wider body that much) with a manual box, pse, sport seats, and Bose sound, low miles, low owners enthusiast maintained yadda yadda

Question is whether 25 k is enough and whether I need to factor in a warranty for the yearly budget? I expect the car may have an 05 vintage in which case it may not be eligible for a warranty anyways?

Save your warranty money for potential engine issues on a 997.1.

I heard that the Gen 1 997 3.6 was pretty good ...

And that all Gen 2's are very good smile
