Hi, others will come along with far more insight, but in my opinion it can't be right as it allows lateral movement. Needs appropriate spacers

I assume the other end of the wishbone is bolted up?

The reason for asking is that the wishbone legs do spread and then close up the opening at the hub junction.

Thanks for the call Alex - two fit one side and none the other! That the? I am presuming I will have to loosen off everthing again so I can get one in either side???

Christ knows how I am going to manage this, Alex - it fought us all day....and we started at 11h00 and have just finished....

Daffying?

Not a term I have heard (or read) before.....

I had them shot blasted and powder coated - also had someone weld a plate over where the ARB goes through the lower wishbone, as one had split and it was a good opportunity to repair and strengthen that weak point. Not the tidiest bit of welding (or grinding down, I'll warrant) but should be effective none the less....

Daffying = doing up/ refurbing. Yes it was the welds I was looking at and the powder coating which looks chipped already and to be honest quite rough.

Agreed, 1 each side otherwise the centre bush will eventually force its way through the slots in the wishbone.


As Phazed said, double check the arms are correctly shimmed where they join the main chassis, as that will change the gap at the hub upright end.

Finally, ARB drop links look fine. Mine were at the same angle when the suspension is unloaded. When back on it's wheels, mine come into line perfectly.

Good job BTW, I have the same fun with mine. Very satisfying when all done and the car handles like a dream

The powder coating has no chips - there were flecks of copper grease - but no chips.
