For those interested, heres my upgrade completed on the bulkhead using a 3/4 inner diameter bearing, some 3mm Ali, self tappers and a couple of nuts and bolts. Oh and Sealant.

What bearing did you use, as I like the idea of using stuff I have lying around the garage.

Its a far more solid job now, along with one of the UJ's refurbed its like new steering!

Their eBay shop is a bit cheaper so get it from there if you do. Also check your column is about 19mm. Mine is 19mm and that bearing iv'e linked is a perfect interference fit. I only say check, as my car does seem to have some odd extras, the key entry for my ignition barrel is on the left hand side, and with power steering could be all sorts of other differences hahaha.
