Where do we see these going generally
Reason I ask is that my Wifes DBS V is nearly 5 years old and just 1800 miles as she doesn't use it and I'm pleased to see prices haven't tumbled too badly.
Do we cut our losses now and bail or just keep it in the corner gathering dust to be enjoyed later on in life when extra seats are not needed?

I reckon the seals and mechanics will be shot. So little mileage! A seller would get an inspection and it would fail dismally.
I dont mind actually doing a straight swap for my 4.7 Vantage, call it take it off your hands. I know, i know generous of me and all that so think nothing of it. Let me know a time and place!!

Swap it for an alternative DBS and let it appreciate? Reason I ask is that my Wifes DBS V is nearly 5 years old and just 1800 miles as she doesn't use it and I'm pleased to see prices haven't tumbled too badly.

Trying to figure this out at the moment myself. I've always wanted to buy a DBS/V12V but I hate depreciation so waiting for the right time to pounce as the curve flattens.
Right now in Dubai I can get an early 2009 DBS Manual with 6,000kms, no B&0 and a 2yr AM Warranty for 63k GBP. Finding it hard to find an excuse not to buy it but the local market isn't keen on Manuals so I think the early cars have some way still to fall while the TTs go for a 5-10k premium

short term dbs values will fall,as the early vanquish's tumble down to 100k so the dbs will lose value accordingly. After a few years prices will pick up again and possibly (especially with manuals) could be a proper classic and will appreciate.
Prices have barely moved in 3 years ,but the vanquish's are now getting too close in price for the dbs not to start losing more value.
I am guessing.

When do you think you would actually need it?
Is this car perfect for you - right colour, trim, options and so on?
Is the car in a popular colour/trim combo - So black and black or one of 50 shades of grey?
What's your attitude to spending £x on insurance, £y on warranty, £z on servicing, £m on repairs/maintenance and £k amount on depreciation every year?
I would be careful about leaving one of these gathering dust, it's a car built to be driven not stored (I have a degree of knowledge on that topic...)
Personally, and sorry to be a bore, but I wouldn't buy this car off you unless I knew you personally and understood the level of care that has been shown. As we have seen on here many times, the garage queen is often more of a pain for a second-hand buyer than a well driven model since the garage queen never got any niggles and warranty items ironed out since it was never used much.

I hear this a lot regarding low mileage cars having issues etc but I have lots of experience with super low mileage stuff and I've experienced zero issues with post 1980's stuff in particular. Most recent of purchases being an 89 107 500SL with 4000 miles. I've had many and this car drives so perfectly and with no issues whatsoever.
I also have a low mileage V8 X pack which doesn't leak a single drop. (surprised me too)
Nonetheless this car has been driven every year and MOT'd etc though obviously not far, I think it's important to keep them rolling.
The car to me is a thing of beauty, costs nothing to insure and obviously zero RFL, servicing every other year probably from here on.
I have no use for the car right now, I don't need the money but I feel one day it'll work for us just fine. It's a Carbon Black car. 2010 Dec

In which case - KEEP IT. It is indeed a thing of beauty and should put a smile on your face when you walk past even if you don't have the keys with you...I also have a low mileage V8 X pack which doesn't leak a single drop. (surprised me too)

I keep looking for something to replace my DBS MY11. I keep failing. The DBS suits me perfectly.
Financially, I can't believe how well it has done versus my poor expectations. I suspect that, in an economic downturn, it will take a bath - but only to where it should have been anyway.
The finance person in me says sell it and buy it back cheaper when you want to use it. But where will you find a one owner, low mileage car where you can guarantee the history and care lavished on it?
So I'm keeping mine. Quite possibly for ever. I'd recommend you to do the same.

Yes probably answered my own question really but had the opinions been that it's going to tumble then maybe it should go.
Personally I can't ever see them ever being worth relatively little and I think that not calling it's replacement a DBS really helped it maintain a sensible value.
So many cars I want but if the DBS went I know I'd be left wanting one again
