Whilst I appreciate there isn't much you can do to make two triangles look that original, you have to admit it bears a strong resemblance to.....

First thing I thought was 'Canyon' back end. Lovely bike bar the wheels, though I am a De Rosa fan. North of five figures I would imagine.

Exactly. Nothing that interesting about it when it's black with shallow wheels, and it would look like the Canyon with a dash of Giant Propel.

It will be overpriced and under specced like any other big brand though de rosa seem worse for this cashing in on people buying 'Italian'

+1 Just looks like a curvier version.

Aren't Pininfarina just a styling house anyway? Surely they'd be better getting some sort of aerodynamics based car outfit to take a look at it.

I tried a De Rosa back in about 2003, head to head with a Colnago C40

The C40 pipped it for me as the De Rosa was just a bit too expensive for me then, but the De Rosa was a lovely thing, very well finished off too

The cabling is horrendous, only comes with Super Record (yawn) and Pininfarina branded wheels, really? (and lets not forget Pininfarina is the styling house that brought us the StreetKa, the 205 Cabriolet and Shogun Pinin).

With the exception of Passoni (which many of the Fanboys have probably not heard of), I don't see what's so special about Italian bikes; particularly when they do carbon.

My local bike shop is a De Rosa dealer and they do look like lovely machines. oddly the one that catches my eye the most is a more regular ali framed bike. This one doesn't do much for me. Certainly less than the Trek Madone 9 from the other week.

I couldn't comprehend riding or using a bike at that price .... I could get something custom built (in steel of course) with some decent finishing kit and Di2 for half the price that would probably be more special to me.

Specialized work with McLaren (a technology company), De Rosa works with Pininfarina (a design house) - says it all to me!

Woah there! Lets not forget that the 205 and 205 Cabrio were cracking cars! (the Pinin' Cabrio was a great looking little thing, especially in Roland Garros form). Lets not also forget Pininfarina is the styling house that brought us beautiful Ferraris including the 250GT Coupe, numerous stunning Fiats and Alfas along with Peugeots coupes and cabriolets 404, 504, 306 and 406!(amongst many other cars and 'other' projects)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and although I like this bike because it's well proportioned and the colours are quite funky I also recognise that it offers little in the way of totally 'unique' design. It's been said before and it'll be said again, how many variations on 'two triangles and a pair of forks can there be'?! Until you end up with something like Chris Boardman's Lotus Bike or Graham Obree's Hour Record frame nothing will look too different or revolutionary?!

Well we can be sure that if anyone is doing the innovating De Rosa will copy it a year later and treble the price #artisan

Milanino? I've bought another one (gone down a size and different colour) and the quality of the welding is top notch.

I guess that's the balance between a usable race bike, a concept bike and 'art'?!
