(Of the legal kind!)

Wondered if any of you Doc's out there could answer this? I'm currently on a weeks course of anti-biotics and the label says 'Take 1 tablet 3 times a day at equal intervals'

Now, does this mean 24/3 = 8 hour intervals - i.e. through the night, or every 5/6 hours during the day OK?

Its a test. if you are foolhardy enough to follow the instructions to the letter then you will be diagnosed as a hypochondriac

Antibiotics are like radioactivity, they have a half life. As near as possible to 8 hours would be best at adminstering the dose to your body.

It does mean over 24 hours but you don't have to get up in the middle of the night!!! Just take one before you go to bed.
I think most people tend to take them with their 3 meals though, but this doesn't give as good continued fucntion for the antibiotics.
