Talking in the pub last night about using Rain-x on my visor.
One of the guys says that rain-x destroys the anti scratch coating on the visor??
I have used Rain-X for years without a problem.
Does anyone else know anything about any problems regarding Rain-X?
I think it is great stuff.

A weak mix of fairy liquid and water does pretty much the same job.
Just remember to put it INSIDE the visor or you'll be looking through bubbles.
I think you have this mixed up with Anti-fog?
Rain-X makes rain dissapear from your visor to save you from wiping it.-Magic stuff.

It can make some plastics go smokey
It can make the plastic appear smokey if it is not applied correctly.

As for cracking-yikes!!
I have used it for years on the same visor and had no problems!

I use rain-X on my lid .. no problems. Interesting enough, the anti-fog stuff they sell appears to be the same stuff as screen wipes.
i use screen wipes on my lid. no probs there.
Also acts like rain-x as there is an alcohol solution in it. cleans it like new and stops the fogging. welldone NiceDay

As I need a new visor I will put it to the test-over the weekend.
Nice one. It's always good to work out whether these rumours are true or not.
Have fun and please don't punch a hole in your lid![]()

Mark
O.K. youve been on the edge of your seats waiting for this-I can tell!!
Managed to blag a new but damaged visor from my stockist along with a brand new visor to replace the one we are going to test.
Put's on my white labcoat and armed with a clipboard, pencil, tape, elastic, ruler, plastic channel and ballbearing sets up the test.
Can you see what I'm doing yet??
After a few pratice shots to see if the thing works I'm ready to do the test-'roll video!'
Results:
Old visor treated with Rain-X marked but not penetrated.
New visor-Same result.
Conclusion:
Rain-X no problem.
I'll keep on using it then!!
