Service History
Discussion
I need some advice on service history.
I'm looking at a couple of 996 C4S at the moment. The first one had its first main dealer service at 9600 miles however this was near enough 2 years after purchase. Then it has normal yearly , minor and major services to 2013 and then a gap appears until 2015 (51K to 61K)
I know that these cars technically have a 2 year service schedule but I'm slightly worried that the gaps may put off potential buyers in the future.
Your advice would be appreciated

Guess it depends on how long you're planning on keeping it. The service history doesn't sound too bad (not ideal) but if you own it for 3-5 years and service it yearly and carry out extra maintenance as required it will become less important.
Buy on condition, all things being equal you'll pick a car with a better history. Can you negotiate a discount for the missing history (worth asking)?

Thanks gents for the clarification. I would rather buy something that is spot on - this one is missing the sports exhaust option I really like but it is in great condition bodywork wise.
Have a real itch but some C4S seem to be really sticking - for example this lovely one still hasn't sold and that makes me suspicious.

From chassis 2004 and onwards its 2 year service intervals , im not sure if 996/986 fall into that catagory ,cant rember when 996 finished production , some of the last ones could but as an 03 and an 04 would be basically the same i would think 1 year or 12k mile services would be best.
look at ythe chassisi no. wp0zzz99z(year no here).

Can you clarify please? I'm being told it is either 12,000 miles or 2 years.
