Restore fading Boxster soft top

Anyone had any experience of doing this?

Mines just starting fade slightly and I'd like to cheer it up as the rest of the car is pristine.

Try looking at the Renovo product range. They have products for different colour roofs. Used the cleaner/proofer very successfully on a blue roof on a Z3 we once had.

I was looking for something that actually restored the black rather than a cleaning/waterproofing product. I've seen some reviews of the Lenovo stuff and it seems to have mixed results, although I'm sure the cleaning waterproofing works well.

I had excellent results using Renovo's black product on my Boxster S some years ago,

Porsche do a range of products specifically for fabric roofs - available through tequipment cleans waterproofs and deepens the colour back to original

I used black shoe polish on my Griff a few year back, a bit of elbow grease but came up like new.

I was a bit dubious at first but it worked. Try it on a hidden bit first

I think part of the problem is that it is hard to clean them effectively, I have tried the Autoglym kit but when you have years of accumulated fallout, remnants of bird poo etc the top needs a very thorough clean with hot water, a fairly aggressive cleaner but that won't damage the hood, scrubbing etc. Probably 4-5 passes to really clean it thoroughly. I've read that a vax machine is good. There's a company near me that will come out & do it for you for about £90, I keep thinking about giving them a try
