What are the best digital wallet type things to copy data from CF/SD cards onto?
Ideally I'd be looking for the following features:
1) Supports Canon RAW files
2) Decent LCD screen (displays RAW as well as jpg ideally)
3) Takes normal batteries (2nd best option is that you can buy extra rechargables for it)
4) small and light
5) Accepts SD and CF cards

I use a Flashtrax (40GB).
Takes about 5 mins for a full 512MB card, one touch backup from CF cards. Should be able to do 5-6 cards before a recharge. It's a USB2 device, so fast downloads to the PC upon return to base.
Copes well with jpeg and .NEF format so should cope with Canon raw files.
It has a reasonable sized screen and the screen folds away and so is protected when not in use. The only downside is that the screen is not as contrasty and colours are not as punchy as I'd like.
The only downside is it's a bespoke rechargeable battery so if you're off into the wilderness for days at a time it might not be the best thing.

Apparently the Epson P-2000 is the dogs-thingies in this respect. The screen is amazing. I always take my laptop (tiny IBM X41) with me with some external Lacie Drives, however a friend bought one of these and I was very impressed.

the guy who does our prints showed me his new one the other day. I think he got it cheap because the new model was just coming out. I can't remember who made it (sorry) but it had a fantastic looking 212dpi screen. I don't know if they all have similar screens, but from what I've seen it's really worth it since you can see much better the quality of the photos.

That'll be the Epson P-2000 I mention above - the screen has to be seen to be believed - the res is astounding!!!

Don't think that's the one, looking at the picture. Might be the updated version though
It was probably the older P-1000 (www.dpreview.com/news/0401/04010501epsonp1000.asp) that you were looking at, since it was recently replaced with the P-2000.

Not packaged in th box you buy, but it is available as an accessory along with spare batteries etc.
