Help! Marantz SR7007 just gone pop...
Discussion
... after 27 months loyal service. Completely dead, no lights and power-on switch totally unresponsive...
Checked fuses, leads etc with no joy. Went out with a "bang" whilst in standby mode.
Seems that it's out of warranty unfortunately and the retailer is being less than helpful...
Any suggestions on where to get it resuscitated ?
Cheers,
UV

Sorry to hear that. I have got exactly the same model, and I'd hate to see it go.Checked fuses, leads etc with no joy. Went out with a "bang" whilst in standby mode.

I have had good experiences with Denon/Marantz support (based in Ireland) over the years. They may be able to suggest what is wrong and recommended repairers in your area.
The general response is that modern electronics are uneconomical to repair, but the equivalent model to this one (SR7009) is still £800 to buy new, so you'd assume it is repairable for much less than that.
