Fuel pipe confusion

I`m trying to source fuel pipe for my S1 from the tank to the pump,I understand it should be hydraulic type 5/8inch inside dia.now here comes the confusion the chap I spoke to advised against using this type of pipe with unleaded petrol because in his opinion the fuel would react against the rubber inner and break it down thus allowing particles of rubber to enter the pump,I`m interested in you guys thoughts should I go for it or should I not!!! BOB

You can buy this size of fuel hose from places such as Europa Spares or Demon Tweeks. It has a cotton braid finish on the outside.

You definitely need unleaded friendly hose, which not all hydraulic hose is. My local hydraulic specialist was happy to sell unleaded friendly fuel hose by the yard un various sizes so you shouldn't have any trouble finding it.
