How long do you spend polishing

In this weather, it just gets a wash and dry on a Sunday.
Save the polishing till it's Summer and the roads are less filthy.
To be honest, I can't tell the difference between a wash and dry and a polish - they look the same to me on my car. It would be different if it was a darker colour, but red seems to always look shiney.

I sympathise with your predicament,
Keep it clean and shiny.
After all no “true lady” would be impressed if presented with a mucky banana
We should all buy shares in Autoglym, I bet the majority of us p/heads keep that bloody company afloat.
Has anyone tried the new Purple Hi-Gloss Wax?, a friend of mine was given a test sample to use at the TSSC meet at Stafford last year. The paintwork on the old Spitfire came up superb…must get some if it’s available.
What stuff does anyone else use to make the Cerby shine?

I just need to sort out my cashflow-post-purchase before he does my new cerb! And it looks like Ive already run out of time as far as polishing goes today

Rob,
Ray washes the car every time we go out to a Meet or 'event'. So 9 times out of ten she looks clean.
There's a huge difference between washing and looking clean to a full wax and polish.
One that I didn't appreciate until Martin worked his magic.
Now..I'm not trying to advertise here and to be fair I wasn't going to comment on the post in case I was accused of advertising....but I really was truly amazed when Ray bought the Peril home after Martin had worked on her all day.
I suppose, being yellow and the fact that Ray doesn't wax often (his legs just can't take the pain
), it stood out all the more. It looked as if it had come straight from the showroom. Just beautiful, inside, out and in the engine bay.
It's a lot of money when looked at as a valet...but it is far more than just a valet......and the result is astonishing.

Would I be correct in assuming this Martin Chappie is somewhere south of Watford ? 
if so does he have a cousin in the North West pref Lancs/Cheshire, as it would be bloody filthy by the time i got home from an M1-M6 Porschite bashing Jaunt

Do any of you guys use those electric polishing bonnets or do you do it all with elbow grease.
Only asking as spent a whole day the other weekend polishing only to end up with an extremely knackered arm and a car no shinier than a wash and chammis would have done.
Are they any good or is there a danger of damaging the paintwork through overzealous polishing???

I must admit...I just love to rub mine. After a 'run' I wash it with MER Shampoo/Wax. It then gets Zymoled - as Folks say, what a smell 
. I also twice a year use Zaino, to clean the Paintwork & then Polish. This stuff u apply by hand - literally, no cloth.
During the summer, I then clean it properly! So 8 hours is a 'quicky'
