What the easiest way to get a car towed 50 miles. I need to get one of my cars to a garage whos rebuilding an engine for it. Its not my TVR is the other car.
Any ideas
ps... might need to tell them you got a problem which only the 50 mile away garage can fix, you already spoke to all the locals and it was booked in anyway
If the AA send an indi you're sorted anyway however unconvincingly you tell the story 
Rent a car trailer. Not cheap, but you wait til you get the garage's bill.
Most 4x4 can take the weight of the trailer and car.
Other methods are towing by rope - not much fun for either driver - or using a rigid connection device like an 'A' frame. The latter, whilst a bit pricey, makes towing so easy that even a fist-timer can do it without difficulty. The driver of the towing vehilce can place the towed vehicle to an inch. It makes reversing very difficult although possible with a bit of experience.
The 'A' frame is connected to the lower wishbones/arm and uses a normal tow bar. It will follow in the tracks of the towing vehicle.

Another advantage of the 'A' frame is that it keeps the weight of the towing vehicle down so that it can be towed by most vehicles of the same size.
