Hi,

Want to delete a partition on 2nd disk so I can do a clean XP install.

How can I delete it? Would rather not boot from the CD and let it install, really want to delete the partition first so that I can check it was the right one to delete (IYSWIM). That way I can undelete it fairly easily - if stuff has been copied on it makes it more difficult.

I am 100% sure I know which disk I am formatting BUT I will be a nervous wreck whilst XP is installing

So, how can I do it? Partition Magic / Paragon Partition etc. have non working demos How else?

if(WindowsXP)

Start>Settings>ControlPanel>AdministrativeTools>ComputerManagement

When open;
Storage>DiskManagment in the tree control

In the DiskManagement view right click on the logical drive and select;

RemoveLogicalDrive || RemovePartition

As appropriate.

Should have said, it's 2000 Professional

Edit: ...and it doesn't matter, it's exactly the same!

Perfect, thanks

Right click "my computer" > Manage

Disk Management then right click the partition you want to remove.

Pretty much as above, just a slightly different way in.
