High Rpm After throttle body clean
Discussion
Just had another look this morning.
Took air intake off, def no air leaks.
I never took the throttle body of initially, just cleaned what i could see, so presume no leak from the gasket.
What does this say to you.......
When the intake was off this morning i started the engine and idles as it should 550rpm, could rev and would drop back to idle.
when the intake was off also, there was the stability control message on the dash, when i put it back it had dissapeared, can i assume this needs to see a vacum of some sort.
If nobody has the answer, do you think a remap, which i have been thinking about also, could correct the idle
thanks again

Your problem started when cleaning, did you spray the sensor of the MAF, this may be the cause.Took air intake off, def no air leaks.

Also dont have remap until this problem is sorted first

Had exactly the same problem after cleaning the throttle body see here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Eventually got it sorted with Monkfish. They struggled with it for a while and certainly had them scraching their heads tried many throttle bodies on it and it was an old one that some how got it running ok again.
Would suggest giving them a call, but not sure if they would want to tackle the problem again. Think mine and us both pulling our hair out! Good luck getting it sorted and pm me your email/number number if you need to discuss.
