Just wondering how you all pronounce "porsche".

I've always said "por-sssh"
Clarkson always says "por-sha"
Guy off corination street who sells them said "por-sssh"

They are both right. Porshhhh is the man as in Ferry Porsche and Porscha is the car. At least I think its that way round I don't really care actually I just love the speed

But that sounds as though you're trying to say 'Posh' in a posh voice! There's only one correct pronunciation and that's the German original - Porsche, with an 'er' on the end. Nothing gay about being right - anything else is uneducated!

German-speaking enthusiasts say elfer (which is pronounced L-ver), which comes from elf=eleven.

I suppose it's similar to people in this country calling Paris, well Paris rather than Pari. I say Porsh, though for some reason when associated with Gulf it seems better to say 'Gulf Porsha' Maybe I've been watching 'Le Mans' too often!

If you weren't helping with hatches and got a job as a main dealer's receptionist you'd have to say 'porsha'...a good reason to stay at the business end as a delivery woman then!

If I say the word on its own I usually say 'Poorsha', but then if somebody asks you what particular model you drive it normally turns to 'Poorsh' nine eleven Carrera etc...

Just lazy I guess.

In German it's pronounced PORSCH-eh; the upper case to show the enunciation. So PORSCH-a is pretty close and accepted English translation
