Dear all

I has been a long time sine I posted due in a large part to ill health but I am just about to start a new project and with a 997 C4.

Would anyone in the group be interested in seeing how 997 C4 works once it has a standard LS3 fitted.

This is an engineering project so I am not interested in a purist view point. If you are interested please respond and will then consider posting updates.

Depends, are you going to put it in the front or the back?

The plan is to remove the flat 6 and mount the LS3 to the existing gearbox.

The LS3 is leighter in weigh by 40kg than the porsche and fits well into the engine bay.

Thanks for your comment much appreciated.

I think you'd get more interest posting it in a more general area of PH.

We would like to achieve a similar weight and place at the rear of the car but with an increase to 520BHP and Torque should be equally as impressive from a standard crated power plant with small modifications to achieve desired BHP.

So, about the same as a Turbo S.....

Yes it will be about 520BHP but without significant modification to the engine or force induction

Hugely interested - are you using the Renegade kit that you can get for the 996 / 986?

Please keep us informed of your progress! I am a big fan of the LS engines since a mate of mine put a supercharged one in his Cerbera. I also love 911's so its win winspinwoohoo

The developer is actually making all the parts needed so ensuring he can offer a solution to anyone wishing to convert a 997 or 996.

I had the misfortune to drive a 911 with a cosworth GA engine fitted once. C of G of the engine was far too high compared to the low slung flat 6. Oversteersville Arazona, how are you planning to counter this?

therevday I have converted two TVR's the LS3 Griffith and a LS3 Tamora and I know the Cerbera and have meet the owner at a number of TVR events, That is a stunning car.

The Porsche is my first none TVR project as I have a real soft spot for the 997 yet love the LS so decided to combine the two.

Renegade have allready shown that the v8 reduced weight compared to the flat 6 and other alertation work very well to make displacement almost the same. For us it a case of developing once the car is on the road.
