Obviously there's a fair bit of demand and value in used M parts but there are more and more scam ads appearing lately.

Craigs List London has a fair few, including 4 s14's for under £2k each! The ''seller'' calls himself Andy and he can only email because he has a sore throat. smile He also gives an address in Plymouth from one of the ads.

I would hope that most people would simply refuse to pay a stranger by bank transfer but you never know. Shouldn't it be tougher to place these scam ads?

There are scams with everything.

If it seems too good to be true it is most likely a scam.

Funny thing though, I placed a joke advert for my E30 M3 on April Fools Day for a "bargain" price, and from the responses, I could have been paid for it bt bank transfer at least 10 times.

So people will fall for the scams time and again!
