Aston Racing Green

Can any Aston expert tell me the proper name (and paint code if possible) for the green used on the Aston DB4 Zagato in the pics below, I've seen; Forest Green, Aston Racing Green, Chiltern Green, but don't know what the proper name is, it's just such a lovely colour.

It depends on what year you are talking. Aston Green in 1992. Almond Green in 1999. There were also at least two Aston Racing Greens. Chiltern is different again (more yellow).

Former Tony's car is actually DBR9 Racing Green, as opposed to Racing Green.

There are many shades of green that are similar, so very difficult to compare via photos.

The names change over the years, but the 50s racing colour was I believe known as almond green.

Modellers used Ford forest green as a modern alternative.

The modern DBR9 were aston middlesex green I believe

I believe Almond Green also changed on later cars. Here's my Almond Green V12 without any post prod - it's a considerably lighter green than shown on that original Vantage.

You can see how the available light, exposure and post-photo processing (if any) change the colours.

As a footnote, I always thought the DB4 Zag was coloured in "Project Green" or later "Sanction Green". Forest Green or RSW Green were the best approximations I could find at the time as that was the colour I was trying to achieve with my DB4.

Yes indeed. It's just a pity they're weren't more popular, owners going for the usual black, grey and silver all the time. I waited a year for a suitable green DB9 Volante; eventually gave up and got a coupe instead. Although I find Pentland Green a bit too dark, at least I'm on the ladder. Would swap for the Volante if one ever comes up.

I also thought the Zagato color for the db4 gt was "sanction" green. It's more silver than the 1990s/2000s almond green on the DB7 zag/ar1 and LM600 cars etc. But even in photos of the DB4 zags, they are in different shades.

Agree the modern alloro and stirling green are great looking. Alloro is more silvery than the forest green, and stirling green is even more silver vs green. but both are great colors.
