Look very nice, I'm tempted by a set of these at a decent price like that, what are they like to say the wortec headers that Monkfish sell? (except cheaper) I'm assuming being stainless they would still be ok for ceramic coating, I'm currently looking at trying to keep the temps down in the engine bay, but when I search I end up looking at cam's, header, etc lol I'm easily side tracked.
I have custom made headers and cats made for me by AAS in Newcastle cost was about £1000. I had 200 cell cats made but they will make decat pipes to fit but wont fit them thats down to you.
This work was done about 5 years ago so price might of come down since then. Lot of the scottish guys have headers From AAS.

Current cost for AAS mid-length headers, sports cats, angled plug lead(s?) and O2 extension cables is £1300 fitted. (Guess where I'm going tomorrow!)I was seriously tempted by these Proflows, but I couldn't find anywhere local who I'd be happy to fit them and make up cat pipes. I don't have the time to fit them myself, so I'm going with the lazy/expensive solution.

Doesn't sound that bad a price to be fair with the fitting, When you say mid-length is there different lengths they do or is it just that's what they call them. Bit of a hike for me up to Newcastle (I'm over near Liverpool)I was seriously tempted by these Proflows, but I couldn't find anywhere local who I'd be happy to fit them and make up cat pipes. How come they wont fit the cat pipes for you? Emissions etc I assume or because it would be an MOT fail/not suitable for road use.

The Proflow headers above are classed as longtubes, in that the lengths of the primaries into the collector are "long"! This contrasts with "shorties" fitted to 5.7 VXRs. The AAS headers are somewhere in the middle. They will make longtubes, but they seem to discourage it due to clearance issues and the potential for knocking. More expensive too. Others can discuss the relative merits of primary diameters and lengths. Incidentally, I'm on Merseyside too. 3 hours drive and a return by train. Leaving the car there for a couple of days, you're more than welcome to see the results.

Performance aside (not sure what you lose/gain vs. long tubes except in vague terms), the AAS medium lengths are well made and a good compromise between ease of fit, ground clearance, price, and are well made. Gassing Station | HSV & Monaro | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
