Are there any modification, suggestions or tips on how to get the hoop to sit further down in the parcel shelf area? I know they will always be seated a little higher than the surrounding body but mine does seem to sit higher than others in pictures i've seen. I;'d really love it if it were able to be fully seated below the body line.

It's not a problem because i can see over it safely, but i'd like it lower if possible.

thanks
Kieron

Smaller rear window if you're re-doing the back section.

A simpler option, which may work - I've not tried it, is to contact the guy who make the Surrey Roof. Cumbria Cirrus (try google) as he has a set of replacement rear section struts that have an open knuckle joint (as opposed to a closed hinge) which will give more space for the window to sit in.

Are you sure your roof struts are around the correct way, if fitted the wrong way, this will make the hoop protrude much higher.

Just a thought, as my V8S ones were fitted incorrectly as had the same problem, until alloy ones fitted........

Happy tiving..

It's down to the "design" of the wheel arch and the seat-belt post and the thickness of the hoop. If you have a look where the back edge of the hoop touches on the top of the wheel arch then that's your limit. Some are lower/higher than others. That's how they are I'm afraid. Your only option is to fabricate a new rear hoop with a better design of pivot point, or make a fully folding soft top. You'll still hit (literally!) the same problem with the height of the wheel arch and the seat belt post. However, the folded down roof will sit almost flush at the back and you'll be able to see the road behind you in your mirror rather than the interior light.
