Yep. Nice 993.

If the damage is just cosmetic and the price doesn't go up...

I can't find it on ebay - any pointers as to where it is?

I guesstimate the damage to come to circa £2500

That's if the engine bearer/engine/oil system/suspension hasn't been damaged....

I would assume there's some fairly substantial damage to it, seeing as it's probably been written off, hence being in a salvage auction.

Found it! It's tiptronic too, not manual - judging from the photos.

On my 993, I had a much smaller dent in the left rear wing (size of soup plate?) with damaged lights and small scrape on the bumper - an idiot backed in to me while I was parked. This was repaired by an authorised body shop, paid for by the idiot's insurers, but the bill was nearly £7,000. The car was returned looking as new, as you might expect at that price. Full Porsche guaranteed repair, etc, but I'm glad I wasn't footing the bill!

I'd suggest that the damage in that picture will come to a bit more than £2500. I think you ought to be thinking more like 7K at least.

Given that the car is going to be worth around 25K at least without the damage, why would it have been written off?

I think it's generally because it is a 'traders only' auction. Someone who owns a body shop or garage can get it done much cheaper than general public, so therefore is cost effective.
