Hi All, Does anyone know any UK based systems integrators, or have any contacts they can point me in the direction of? Keen to speak to several about two way project work....

At what level/size of company?

I do a lot of systems integration work with IBM and Oracle on a contract basis.

Afternoon,

Are you talking about interfacing between two systems?

I think the OP means a company focused on (many) systems integration capabilities - e.g. IBM, Atos, CGI, Accenture, etc

If you need help on PH dealing with companies like this you need professional help - I'd be surprised if any of them would want to do any work unless its going to run to a 6 figure sum and more so one presumes its either something big you're looking to do or you're looking at the wrong type of company.

You can approach a range of companies including those with Risk Assurance Services who will help ensure any SI work is done correctly. They cost too but a badly worded request or work order because you don't know what you need to ask for will be far far more expensive than the money you pay out for support. In the past I've worked client side and I once covered the costs for 3 of us for a year in the first meeting when I reviewed the hardware the supplier were suggesting the client bought. And being on the supplier side, there is nothing more painful than an ignorant client.

Much as I hate to burst you bubble... I will anyway wink

Navigating the right people to talk to in big SIs is a minefield. As it happens I work for one and helped the OP connect to the right person.

We already use their company in a small scale but another dialogue never hurts, possibly with a different angle. We have risk share and consumption based agreements with partners and vendors...

PS. PH is ace.

Fine and good luck.

My point has nothing to do with who the right person is to talk to (I do know, I've worked for 3 and been a director/partner in 2 of them), it's about knowing what you're asking for. I've had to pick up the pieces of customers not knowing what they want, the supplier doing what they where contracted to do, the customer realising they were wrong and blaming the supplier for not being a mind reader because 'they're the experts'. That's my point

What size of business?

Doing what process exactly?

I have learnt the hard way paying various "specialists" who have made a complete mess and cost us a fortune.
