I may need a new CV joint, TVR PARTs want £95 plus VA

I did a search on here and found that they are from a Ford Sierra 2WD Cosworth, but the search took me back to 2009 and the links to the items seem dead. Also seem they were only about £35.

Can anyone confirm this?

One of my CV boots is completely split, not sure how long its been like it, but easily did 700 miles on it i'm sure.

The info on the CV joint in the Griffith Parts List is from 2012 and should still be correct.

I'm waiting for a set of boots from Bailcast so while I can't recommend them myself yet they did come highly recommended.

Dave Mac Propshafts is your man ... seriously ... I phoned him a few years ago and he knew exactly what I needed.

I fitted the CV joints from Dave Mac last year.

So far so good but the metal plate on the joint end of the boot will not allow refitting of the locking plates.
Some people have ground the locking plates to suit, but I went for Nodlock washers instead and so far they've not moved.

If you go for the Nordlocks you'll need to increase the torque setting for the bolts, details are on their website.
(Oh, yeah, and the bolts you'll get are M10 standard but you'll need M10 fine, for a BTR diff).

These are the kiddies

I had these for at least 40 K on my 4.6, and are currently on my 5.5.

Don't skimp on quality, these are very important part of the drive train.
