I want to do something with the Rover 400 clocks fitted to the Marlin (and not bin 'em!).

You can't get facia dials for the latest 400's so it needs to be something else.

What I would like to do is fit a (chrome or ali) bezel around the clocks.

I can't find a company that could supply me with these. So the next idea was to make them myself.

What could I use? I looked a some chrome coloured edging trim from Halford, but it doesn't look like it will bend enough and if it would, I don't think it will 1. Look that good and 2. Stay there.

Can anyone help?

i thought i'd reuse the rover 827 clocks in my car, saves money etc. Looked awful. I took the plastic front off, mounted them behind a sheet of ally with round holes, perspex covers - looked lousy. Now i have a 400 squid stack rev counter in the middle, four 2inch gauges and a speedo somewhere (one of those 2 inch x 1 inch jobs, never read it) and am SO MUCH HAPPIER. Suggest you make do with what you've got and plan something trick for later
