Anybody dabbled in the Evolve Eventuri induction kit for the S85?

Sounds pretty nice I reckon -

I've installed a few here in the US. Sound is unchanged under 3k RPM, you won't hear any audible difference. Throttle response at low RPM is noticeably more crisp with a more immediate feel. Above 4k RPM and it's a different ballgame entirely. The OEM airboxes (by design) remove quite a bit of the intake noise and the Eventuri intakes let the beast sing as it should. For anyone who's heard the difference between the standard E46 M3 and the CSL, the change is similar. There are a couple of threads on M5 Board with some data logging of IAT,etc between stock and the Eventuris with impressive results. Not the cheapest intake on market, but I chatted with Imran a bit during the development and there's solid engineering principle behind them. The guys here who have installed them like them better than most any other modification made to the car.

Are the scoops available in something more subtle than bell end red?

I've not looked into these, apart from listening to the increased induction noise, which is nice.

What is the technology that makes them different from any open filter cone on the market?
The increased noise is just due to removing the insulation from the air boxes and fat paper filter acting as sound insulation, isn't it?

Also, you lose most of the CAI given by the stock intake system, which can't help performance, can it?

Cheers - Simon

A lot of discussion here during the design phase if you haven't seen it.

The stock airboxes are designed to reduce intake noise, thus the heavier/thicker materials used to damp it. The Eventuris are not as sealed, but with any movement on the car, see datalogs here:
