Paint protection film. Buy kit and fit yorself
Discussion
Hi all - here is a strange one... Am a self confessed fan of the stuff, especially the latest self healing type (SunTek/Xpel)..
Have fitted various pre cut kits for my motorbikes which seem readily available and due to size a doddle to apply. Also have in the past installed a few bits on cars with no trouble at all. So I feel reasonably confident and competent at the installation process. The hard bit appears to be actually purchasing a pre cut kit specific for your car in the UK ?? Having researched various avenues it seems kits are 'on the shelf' in other countries inc the USA but seemingly absent here.
Appreciate that there are some great companies up and down the country offering installation but why the closed book re buying the kit only? Again I can understand if a company has invested in the software re the endless vehicle kits and they may want to maximise their income but surely there's a market for the budding DIY chap?
Please if any kind soul can point me in the right direction it would be most appreciated.

I've also been looking for paint protection for front bumper of my 997 gts and struggled to find anywhere who will supply DIY kit. I've previously applied Armourfend to my Elise so am reasonably comfortable with doing it myself.
I contacted Armourfend via their website a couple of weeks ago and never received a response so called them last week. The are happy to supply DIY kits so I think I'll go ahead and order.

Why a kit though
The front bumper/pu is the part you need most, and for best results it's cleaner to wrap round and take the front bumper off.
The edges is what puts me off the kits and of course the crazy fitting prices.
They look s
t really if you can see the edge also a dirt build up magnet ESP on dark cars.
IMO a film wrap is the only way, these fitting companies are lazy with edges showing.
